This robust, fast-handling pistol wears our Wilson Combat-engineered polymer Carry-2 grip module with a 3-slot rail. This newly designed and manufactured grip has enhanced traction, smoother reloading, improved pointablity, and superb recoil control in dynamic shooting.

The WCP320 Carry is Wilson Combat’s customized version of the SIG Sauer P320 Carry, combining a SIG P320 fire-control unit with Wilson Combat’s custom slide, barrel, sights, grip module, and trigger/action work.

Wilson Combat’s current WCP320 Carry grip module is available in tan and is specifically designed around the P320 Carry configuration.

Core specifications

The published specifications for the WCP320 Carry list a 3.9-inch barrel, 7.5-inch overall length, 5.5-inch height, 26.8-ounce weight and 17-round standard capacity.

What “Action Tuned” means

This is one of the more significant differences between a standard WCP320 and the Action-Tuned version.

Wilson Combat offered the WCP320 Carry with an Action Tune based on the Grayguns SIG P320 Competition Trigger System, with the customer able to select a curved or straight trigger pad.

The important distinction is that the curved trigger doesn’t mean it’s the ordinary factory P320 trigger. The Action Tune is the upgraded fire-control/trigger configuration.

A review of the WCP320 reported the standard X-Full trigger at approximately 4.94 lb average, while noting that the Action-Tuned version was available as an upgraded configuration.

I would not assume a particular trigger-pull weight for an individual Action-Tuned pistol without testing that specific gun.

Curved vs. flat trigger

The curved trigger gives the WCP320 a more conventional trigger profile than the flat X-series-style trigger.

In practical terms:

• Curved face rather than a flat shoe.

• Familiar feel for shooters accustomed to traditional handgun triggers.

• Action Tune is the important upgrade; the curved shoe is the user-facing trigger shape.

• The exact feel depends on the particular Action-Tuned configuration and individual pistol.

Wilson Combat Carry grip module

The tan grip is one of the most recognizable parts of the WCP320.

Wilson Combat redesigned the P320 grip around:

• High-cut 1911-style beavertail.

• Modified backstrap geometry.

• Undercut trigger guard.

• Radiused trigger guard.

• Wilson Combat Starburst grip texture.

• More aggressive front/backstrap texturing.

• Flared magazine-well area.

• Internal provisions for Wilson Combat rod-style tungsten weights.

Wilson lists the Carry module at approximately 3.2 oz, with dimensions of about 7¼” long, 4¼” high and 1¼” wide.

One useful feature is the provision for tungsten grip weights, which can add mass and change the balance of the pistol. Wilson specifically says its module isn’t compatible with X-Five tungsten weights.

Tan isn’t necessarily SIG FDE

Don’t assume the Wilson Combat tan polymer will perfectly match a SIG factory FDE component. Wilson itself notes that polymer-batch blending can cause slight color variation, and owner reports also describe the color as somewhat different from SIG’s FDE.

Slide and sights

The WCP320 Carry’s slide is substantially different from an ordinary P320 slide.

Wilson Combat machines its X-TAC pattern into the slide, including distinctive cocking serrations and treatment on the slide top. A contemporary review specifically noted that the X-TAC machining provides a positive surface for manipulating the slide.

The original configuration uses:

• Wilson Combat Battlesight rear

• Red fiber-optic front sight

The Battlesight uses a wide U-shaped rear notch intended to make front-sight acquisition fast.

Important: optics

The original WCP320 Carry configuration was not an optics-ready/red-dot-cut pistol. If you’re looking at a used example advertised as an “Action Tuned WCP320 Carry,” check the actual slide carefully rather than assuming all WCP320s have the same configuration.

Barrel

The Carry uses a 3.9-inch 9mm barrel.

The 3.9-inch barrel is a useful middle ground within the P320 family: shorter than a full-size P320 while retaining the conventional Carry configuration.

Magazine

The normal WCP320 Carry configuration was supplied with 17-round magazines.

Because the P320 is modular, magazine compatibility depends on the particular magazine, grip module and local legal configuration. The Wilson Carry module itself is designed around the standard P320 Carry geometry.

Safety configuration

This needs particular attention when buying one.

Wilson produced P320 grip modules in versions with and without a manual safety cut. The Carry module is available in both configurations.

Therefore, don’t identify the exact WCP320 configuration solely from “tan grip.” Check:

1. Whether the FCU has a manual safety.

2. Whether the grip has the corresponding safety cut.

3. The exact Wilson part/model number.

4. The slide and trigger configuration.

What makes the WCP320 different from a regular P320 Carry?

The basic idea is:

SIG P320 platform + Wilson Combat grip + Wilson Combat slide treatment + Wilson sights + Wilson barrel/finishing work + upgraded trigger/action.

So it isn’t simply a P320 with a different-colored grip.

The WCP320 Carry was marketed as a complete Wilson Combat-customized pistol, while the Wilson grip module is also sold separately for people who already own a compatible P320.

Dimensions and handling

The approximately 26.8-ounce unloaded weight makes it a relatively light pistol for its size. The Carry grip is also deliberately shaped differently from the more rounded factory P320 grip.

Wilson’s geometry includes a higher grip position, beavertail, undercut trigger guard and pronounced texturing. Those changes are intended to give the shooter more consistent contact with the grip and better control of the pistol.

The optional tungsten weights can make the pistol noticeably more front/heavy and increase overall mass.

Original MSRP

A contemporary WCP320 Carry review listed an MSRP of approximately $1,195 for the tested configuration.That’s useful primarily as historical context. Used-market value today can be substantially different, depending on production year, condition, Action Tune configuration, safety, sights, original case/accessories and whether the slide has been modified.

Things to check if you’re buying a used one

If you’re considering a particular WCP320 Carry, I’d pay especially close attention to:

• Exact model/serial configuration

• Action-Tuned vs standard trigger

• Curved vs flat trigger

• Manual safety vs no safety

• Original Wilson Combat slide

• Barrel condition

• Fiber-optic front sight condition

• Rear sight condition

• Slide-to-frame fit

• Grip-module condition

• Whether tungsten weights are installed

• Original magazines

• Original Wilson Combat case/paperwork

• Whether the slide has been modified for an optic

• Evidence of aftermarket trigger/FCU work

Also note that Wilson Combat explicitly says its P320 grip modules are not compatible with California-compliant P320 versions.

Bottom line

The WCP320 Carry Action Tuned with curved trigger and tan grip is essentially a premium Wilson Combat treatment of the P320 Carry: 3.9″ 9mm, 17-round configuration, X-TAC slide, fiber-optic/Battlesight sights, Wilson Carry grip, and an upgraded Action-Tuned trigger system with the traditional curved trigger shoe.
