Description

Serial Number: 7006917, 30-06, 24in barrel with excellent bore. The rifle retains about 99% original gray parkerized finish with light wear on contact points and high edges, and a few scattered light handling marks. The walnut stock is in very good plus condition with a 1/2″ square chip at the toe, a light abrasion on the left side of the stock by the receiver, and a few light handling marks. The glass-bedded stock is unmarked and the hand guard appears to be of a different piece of walnut. The receiver markings remain crisp and the barrel is unmarked. The parts of the rifle are of mixed origin, with the trigger housing and bolt marked “-8-SA” and “-12SA” respectively, an H&R manufactured M14 hammer, an operating rod and gas cylinder lock manufactured by Beretta, and a “NM” marked front sight which has red lacquer applied. Unfortunately, the “NM” marked rear sight aperture is broken but replacement rear sight apertures are commonly available. Altogether a nice newer production M1 rifle that with a little work will be fun at the range.
