Affixed to the center of the lid, is a presentation plate which is embellished with scroll and inscribed: ‘DIAMONDBACK / SPECIAL EDITION / 1 of 500’ with a diamondback rattlesnake and desert scene / Shipped To: C.B. Arms Inc. / Address: 65 Hathaway Court Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania / Date of Shipment: July 13, 1979 / Remarks: the revolvers in this edition also have the following features: The right side of the barrel is photo engraved with scroll and ‘Colt Hartford, CT’. A desert scene with a diamondback rattlesnake is depicted on the frame. / The left side of the barrel is photo-engraved with scroll and ‘Diamondback .22 Long Rifle’. The frame features an unfurled banner with the inscription ‘ 1 of 500’. In addition, the sideplate displays the Rampant Colt intertwined with desert scene and diamondback revolver”. Walnut presentation case w/ Colt Custom shop emblems & blue velvet fitted interior. CONDITION: over 97% original blue showing a faint cyl. drag line. Right side of bbl. lug has 3/4″ long series of scrapes. Grips have very good finish, right panel has scratch through checkering above attachment screw. Bright near excellent bore.
